MicroSD cards have emerged as an essential part of the package in the digital world as they support user’s need for extra storage in devices ranging from mobile phones to camera and more. And now Western Digital has launched the highest-capacity SanDisk-branded microSD card which stores 400GB of data.

Mobile devices hold an almost irreplaceable position in our lives because in the present day they not only enable us to connect to our friends and peers but also helps in various other things such as reading up stuff, watching videos or even managing our bank transactions and more.

Since entertainment is fast moving to mobile devices and given the ever-increasing file sizes, expandable storage has largely become a necessity too.“We anticipate that storage needs will only continue to grow as people continue to expect more sophisticated features on their devices and desire higher quality content. We estimate mobile device users worldwide will install over 150 billion applications alone this year, which requires a ton of memory on all of our favorite devices,” said Jeff Janukowicz, research VP, IDC.

The collection, as well as consumption of data, has increased manifolds in the past decade and microSD cards are a great avenue to get that extra storage space. MicroSD cards are useful right from storing data on smartphones, drones, tablets, PCs, laptops, DSLRs and other devices.

“We continue to push technology boundaries and transform the way consumers use their mobile devices,” said Sven Rathjen, VP of Product Marketing, Western Digital. “By focusing on achieving new technology milestones, we enable consumers to keep up with their mobile-centric lifestyles with storage solutions they trust.”
